October 2004 Newsletter Due to our missing some of our very important board members at this meeting / ride, we did not conduct our monthly meeting. President Ed McGrew went over our Code of Conduct for riding in a group. He advised us that we should always keep at least a couple of machines in our rear-view sites and to always use your hand signals. Make sure that when you make a turn that the one behind you sees you making that turn. All ATV’s should ride with their headlights on, as that makes it easier for the person in front of you to turn around and see you back there. Faron informed us of some important events that were coming up for the folks from the Oswego County ATV Club. They are having a Chicken BBQ on the 19th of September at Little Lukey’s from noon until? They will be having a landowner appreciation dinner on the 25th at the American Legion in Altmar. This will take place from 1pm until 5pm. Their last Chicken BBQ for the year, on the 26th at Little Lukey’s. Again this will take place at noon until? On the 6th of October at the Townhouse Restaurant, they will be holding a Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner. This will be an all you can eat dinner starting at 6pm. All proceeds to benefit the Oswego County ATV Club. Upcoming Events / Rides: October 11th, 2004: Lacona VFW at 7:00 PM SHARP. We will be holding our monthly meeting and have many things to discuss and vote on. All members are welcomed to attend. We would also appreciate it, if all Board Members could make it to this meeting. Beverages will be available through the VFW. Not sure if any munchies will be available though. Directions to this meeting place are as follows: Directions for coming from the North: Take Route 81 South to Exit 37. Turn left onto Salisbury Street. Go pass the High School and just before you cross the railroad tracks the Lacona VFW Hall will be on your left. Directions for coming from the South: Take Route 81 North to Exit 37. Turn right onto Harwood Drive. Go about 500 feet and take the next left onto Academy Street. Go to the end and turn right onto Salisbury Street. Just before you cross the railroad tracks will be the Lacona VFW Hall on your left. July 22nd – 24th, 2005: Brasher Falls Week-ender. Everyone should call the folks at the Riverside Campgrounds before then, but not until next year to help save any confusion or the folks losing your reservation over the winter. The number to call after May 1st, 2005 is (315) 389-4771. FAB’s Fact’s: We currently have 22 memberships that have not renewed as of September 28, 2004. Those memberships are very important to the club and are in jeopardy of expiring. The deadline of the 30th of September to renew their memberships is fast approaching. The following list of members still owes their dues. This will be their last newsletter from the club, unless arrangements are made by them contacting “The Fab One” at fabulous1@citlink.net or by phone, by calling (315) 387-6396 after 5 PM.
