June’s Monthly Meeting: We met at Dan and Mary Simmons’s camp located in Winona State Forest. There was a good turn out of (28) machines for this outing. Thirty-eight members and guest were gathered for this ride, on a warm and sunny day. We proceeded to have a short meeting prior to our ride.

President Ralph Miller called meeting to order at 10:30 am. Faron Cronk briefly read the minutes from May’s meeting. Motion to accept minutes as read, with no amendments, was made by Mike Bellinger and seconded by Nancy Fox. All those present were in favor.

Membership Report: 90 Memberships with 183 Members.

(30 memberships are still over due)

Club did a 50/50 raffle and collected $50.00. The winner of half of this amount for $25.00 was Theresa Perry.

President Miller advised us all of the Blue Ribbon Coalition continuing the battle at the national level for our sport and asked how the club members felt about joining this movement. He said that to join them as a club, the annual dues would be $100.00. Dan Simmons made the motion for the club to write them a check for the membership fee. Doug Cronk seconded the motion and all those present were in favor.

President Miller informed us that everything was set to go for our Chicken BBQ. He has already arranged for us to be able to use the parking lot of Ontario Tire Co. in Sandy Creek, thanks to the owner Chuck Dimon. He has also arranged for Larry Rudd to help us cook the chicken, as Larry has the equipment to do chicken barbeques. The members present agreed that we would get our BBQ under way at 11:30 in the morning on Sunday the 1st of August. We also agreed to start off with only cooking 100 halves and to provide salt potatoes and beans. We discussed lining up volunteers to help, at our Brasher Falls meeting.

Faron advised us of our friends from the Oswego County ATV Club needing our help at the Orwell Town Board Meeting. The previous Orwell Town Board Panel had made a resolution to open a majority of the town roads and now it seems they have some new board members that are starting to listen to a very few residents complain. They would like to have as many of us show up at the next town board meeting on the 13th of July at 7:00 pm. Any of our members can go and especially those that live in the township.

Our historian, Patty Miller, advised us that one of our members, Bob Gamble, has been admitted to a hospital in Buffalo. He is going in for a heart operation. She asked if the club would like to send him a card and all those present were in favor.

Faron advised us of our next Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up Day would be on Thursday the 29th of July. We will be meeting at the home of our President Ralph Miller at 5:30 pm. Club will be providing the Hotdogs for those that participate.

Brasher Falls will be our next meeting / ride, coming up in July. There we will be holding our election of Officers. Some of our current officers have fulfilled their 2-year commitment and will be stepping down. Others have been in an officer’s position since day one our club was started back in 2000. There will be a few vacancies and we can only pray that someone will step forward and make the commitment to carry this club into the future.

Also at Brasher Falls the ladies would like to hold a “Baby Shower” for one of our members who will be very pregnant when she is up there. Ed and Jennifer McGrew are expecting their first child. Word has it that they are expecting to have a girl.

Motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:55 am was made by Mike Casler and seconded by Mary Simmons. All those present were in favor.
