| President’s Corner:
Our “Adopt-A-Highway” program has started. Our club has laid claim to
the section of State Route #11 from Mannsville to the Jefferson County
Line. This section will be marked by the State with signs indicating that
our club is responsible for keeping it clean. We will be picking up the
trash three times a year and we already had our first outing for this.
Thirteen members showed up for the work and it did not take long. It took
just over an hour. We sure got a lot of trash and the County Project Coordinators
were very pleased with our work. After the work was done the members met
back at your President’s home and we had a little picnic for those that
attended. Be sure to watch the schedule for our next clean up date and
come and help us keep our region looking good. We will try again to follow
the work with some fun for all. Thanks to all the members who turned out
to help!
It looks like the Jefferson County Politician’s are up to their political
ways again. As many of you know by now, they had on the table the proposal
of opening sections of about 15 County roadways. As of the July County
meeting this has now been tabled for later consideration. And to top all
that off, we have now just gotten word that we will not be able to participate
in the Jefferson County Parade on the 15th. Keep voicing your opinion to
your County Legislature as often as you can. We need to let them know that
we are here and are NOT going away.
Your President: Ralph Miller

Bar & Restaurant, Barber and Beauty Shop, and Hardware store. Other

left after the winter months. We will meet at the home of our President
