| President’s Corner
Well Spring is here, we think, so we should be on our 4-wheelers soon.
We are planning a lot
We have been working with Jefferson County in the Adopt a highway program.
For this program we will be responsible for keeping the Section of Route
11 from Mannsville to the Jefferson County Line cleaned up. This will require
us to get together about three times a year for a couple hours to walk
the roadside. For the little effort we provide in our own community it
is also a benefit to our club. There will be signs posted for our club
and we gain more credibility in the local community. Please help us in
this effort and come out to help when the times are announced.
I would like to take this opportunity to take this time to ask all of our members to take a moment to thank all of our fellow men and women that are serving in our military. Those that are currently over seas in places like Iraq and Afghanistan fighting to keep us safe, they need our support and our prayers. Your President
Invite a friend! I would also like to take this time to ask that each member try to encourage at least one friend or fellow rider to join the club this year. Bring them to a ride or parade (maybe even to the party on Saturday the 19th of April) lets remember that our club is only as good as you the members and we need you all to make it work. Club Rides! Rides for this season are being planned. We have some dates for upcoming events and we will be posting more as they are scheduled or we hear of them from other clubs. If you have any questions please contact one of our Ride Planners. Trail workdays: Right now we have three days scheduled for trail work. These days are for trail work and trail inspections. They are April 5th and 6th as well as April 19th. Hope you can come out and help us clear trails, put up signs and ride a little. April 19th Party At the Presidents Place: Our Venison and Turkey party originally scheduled for February got postponed due to the extreme cold temperatures and is now back on schedule. I hope that many of our members can join us for some good food and time to share with your fellow NYTRO members. Please bring a Dish to pass (Your Favorite) as well as your beverage of Choice. You will also need to bring your table service. And most importantly you can bring an ATV and we will try to go for a ride after we eat if conditions permit. May 3rd 2003 Rivergate trail ride: Our annual spring ride along the scenic Rivergate trail is always a good time. This year’s ride will coincide with the Recreational Expo being held at the Clayton arena. We will be able to stop and check out the displays at the show on our path along the ride. May 3rd 2003 Lodge ATV Club Poker Run: Time Again for the Spring poker Run with the Lodge ATV Club up in Clayton New York. For more details contact the Lodge ATV Club. May 2nd thru May 4th, Clayton Recreational Expo: A great place to come out and see all the new machines, gear and supplies. A good time to get a good deal on that new riding gear, or just check out the machines and see what you can dream for next! Our club will also have a display set up, to hand out club information and try to promote us as well. Hope to see many of the member’s stop by during our ride! May 16th thru May 19th Hatfield / McCoy Trail System Trip: NYTRO of Western New York has a great ride planned. Our chapter does not have enough interested members to coordinate our own event If you are interested in this trip and would like to join fellow club members for a great ride Contact Chris Pirrone of the Western Chapter ASAP You can reach him via email at pirrone7@aolo.com or by phone at (716) 685-6858 June 2nd thru June 8th, Americade Motorcycle Rally: For those of our members who also enjoy two wheels on the street. This is your chance to get out on the road and become a part of the biggest touring rally in the United States. , July 18th thru July 20th, Brasher Falls Weekend: It was such a great trip, good riding, trails, and company so it’s been decided to do it again. The dates are Friday July 18th through Sunday July 20th. We plan on setting things up like last year, staying at the Riverside Campgrounds right in the middle of town, and riding from there. For those that missed it last year, the campground is located right on the river, so bring your fishing stuff and swimming stuff if you like. There are also canoes available for rent. Of course we will still have many different one-day rides. To include a ride on the Rivergate Trail in Clayton, a couple rides on Tug Hill, maybe a ride in the Brantingham Lake area and I am sure we can come up with others as well! Be prepared and come to a meeting to share your input! Other local events: Such as the great Newton Falls Poker Run, Adirondack ATV Club rodeos and Bald Rock Lodge Poker Run are events we are still waiting to get dates for. As soon as we have the dates for other local events we will be adding them to the list of events to go out and enjoy. Membership Information!
