A new event for all riders to attend! Moore’s Blizzard Barn located on Route # 342 in Black River has Cruise-In nights every Monday night from May 13th thru August 26th. A great time for all with music and great people! The great news is that this year there will be an ATV Night Monday August 5th. DJ music provided by Scotty James and there will be some door prizes as well. You can come out and enjoy the evening checking out the cars and ATVs, and feel free to ride your ATV to the Blizzard as we now have a legal route through the village of Black River. Our Club is a partial sponsor for this first ever ATV Night at the Cruise in and I hope that everyone gets out to join us.

Grant Requests, Ready for more good news? As you may or may not know we applied for some funds from the county grant program to help us make the purchase of a piece of equipment. We were successful and will be receiving almost $5,000 from the county to apply toward the purchase of a tractor with a loader that will enable us to do more with trail creation and maintenance. We are currently looking at a used international tractor with loader, but we also still need to raise an additional $600 more dollars above what we have to make this purchase! We are on our way!

NYSORVA! We are still in a push to get our registration legislation through. We now have the mail in cards to send to the sponsor’s, and we will be handing them out at the meetings, So please take the time to send a card, write a letter, or even make a phone call to any of the Senators or Assembly people who represent us and let them known how important this stuff is to all of us and the future of legal riding in New York State.

Trail Work: We have had a couple of work parties and we have gotten much done, but as always there is always much more to do and we also need supplies. If you can help out with some trail work or materials let us know! We have rebuilt a bridge out of Community Park, but have a new trail that needs a bridge as well. We could use materials to include some old Telephone or Electric poles for our bridges. We have also been getting signs up on some trails and working with landowners to get permission to cross other sections of property and get more of our trails connected legally. Please be careful when riding on any road as the legal status of roads varies depending on what town you are riding in and there have been some complaints about riding a couple of roads in the town of Ellisburg. We have gotten some signs, but are still working to order more and make our trails well marked and easy to follow. When out riding please stay on the trails or we may loose access to the trails and the property they cross.
Town Board Meetings: I would again like to encourage members to attend town board meetings in towns that you live in or that concern you. Thanks to the efforts of our members we are moving forward in the town of Ellisburg to gain access to some of the town roads that will allow us to link trails across the region and be able to travel to Tug Hill. Like many things this is not an easy battle, and there are a few very vocal people in opposition to any ATV activity. They are very vocal, and have even gone to the point to get petitions. We may out number them by 4 to 1 or more, but if you do not attend meetings, talk to the people you elected or speak up no one will know. I would encourage all members who own property or reside in the town of Ellisburg to attend the Next Board meeting. Let these folks know we are serious and we are not going away. Also encourage all riders in the region to also attend, and speak out. See the following list for meetings.

1.  Town of Lorraine meeting is scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 P.M.

September 4th thru the 7th: This is the scheduled weekend for the Adventure Tours ride in Lowville. Adventure Tours is a Polaris sponsored organizations that puts on rides and tours around the country for ATV’s, Watercraft and Snowmobiles. They have scheduled these days for there participants to ride in our region. Our club has been contacted to provide guide service for the rides during these days and a donation will be made to our club for this service. We need members who can ride these days to lead or bring up the rear for riding. The ride participants will be broken into three groups so we need a minimum of six members available each day and more are welcome to ride along as it would be nice to have an extra person in each group to assist with any road crossings etc. Great days of riding and for those of our members that help out it does not cost anything! If you can help out and ride along for this Adventure Tour, please contact David Beyer at 92vmax@imcnet.net or at (315) 782-5280. Or contact Faron Cronk at fabulous1@citlink.net or at (315) 387-6396.

OFFICERS. Almost time for some elections and officers to help keep our great organization going! Time to think about being a more active part of the club? We need some members to lend a hand and fill some positions including vacant positions such as membership coordinator and ride planner. We have some officers that are doing a great job as well, but some need help as well, so do not be afraid to step up and run for a position with this great club! Due to personal matters we also have some positions that will be vacant and so now is the time to take an active part and keep this rolling for all we have accomplished.
